BCA Green Mark Gold

Applied's Singapore facility was named a Building and Construction Authority (BCA) Green Mark Gold award winner for its energy efficiency and sustainability. Buildings are awarded the Green Mark based on five key criteria-energy efficiency, water efficiency, site development/management, indoor environmental quality and innovation.

Going Green Award

Named the first corporate winner of the Austin Business Journal's Going Green Awards, Applied's Austin, Texas campus was recognized for its continued green initiatives including being the first semiconductor manufacturing facility to obtain and annually maintain ISO 14001 certification as well as a waste diversion rate greater than 90%.

Water Conservation Award

Applied Materials was awarded a Silicon Valley Water Conservation Award. These are presented to organizations whose programs and leadership have advanced water conservation in Silicon Valley. Our water conservation goal is to reduce consumption in our facilities by at least 10% by 2012. Since that goal was set, we have instituted projects that have saved over 51 million gallons of water--the equivalent of 2,500 average size swimming pools!

Green IT Award

Computerworld, a leading IT industry trade magazine, named Applied Materials one of the Top 12 Green IT vendors. Our IT organization is committed to achieve 20% of Applied's greenhouse gas reduction goal through energy efficient computers, consolidating server rooms and increasing the cooling efficiency of our data center.
