Applied Materials has granted The Nature Conservancy funds to support an alternative energy project for biodiversity conservation and community development in remote areas of Yunnan and Guangxi in China. This grant helps over 2,500 people in more than 12 rural communities by making clean, renewable energy sources available.

A recently opened Green Energy exhibition at the Madatech Science Museum in Haifa, Israel shows visitors how to conserve and use alternative energies in everyday life. Key features of the hands-on models, which are a permanent part of the museum, is a solar display and the "My Green Home" exhibit sponsored by Applied Materials. Demonstrating how to use sustainable principles is just one of the ways Applied is bringing environmental education to life.

That's the promise of the Climate Prosperity Initiative-creating a better, more sustainable world for our children and grandchildren. Funded by Applied Materials, Joint Venture Silicon Valley lauched the regional program to connect local clean and green companies to local markets through specific projects focused on reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
